Renewed: Survivor, Amazing Race.

Hurrah! Survivor is now assured to Season 22 and The Amazing Race to Season 17.

Once again, Immunity is back up for grabs.

CBS has just ordered two more seasons of Survivor and one more for The Amazing Race.

With “Heroes v Villains” about to launch shortly, Survivor is now assured to its 22nd season. Host and Producer Jeff Probst is currently signed for the upcoming season.

Nine has promised to air the next season, after the franchise performed well over summer. But those Winter Olympics may get in the way of Fastracking.

A new Amazing Race begins in the US on February 14 with two former Big Brother (US) contestants). Seven is yet to announce any plans.

We’ve only missed out on one season. Every Survivor season with the exception of Season 4 Survivor Marquesas, has aired on Australian television. It was broadcast in the US at the same time as Australian Survivor (2002) and consequently not shown here.

  2. @ Dean,

Survivor will get renewed two seasons at a time from now on, or well I guess as long as they are planning on filming “back-to-back” seasons. Last May-August they filmed Survivor Samoa & Survivor: Heroes Vs Villians “back-to-back”, with only about a 20-day turn around between the Day 39 of Samoa and Day 1 of HvV, it’s to save money scouting locations, having crew facilities built and such.

  3. Good to see these seasons being extended! I really hope Nine continues off with Heroes v Villains right after Samoa ends. Also I hope Seven puts on The Amazing Race in the 9:30 Thursday spot it had late last year …

  4. Yes, more Amazing race! Unlike Idol and Biggest Loser/Brother, it never gets boring. Shame we got 8-11 out of order though.
Meh to Survivor. Seeing as we’ve missed out on a third of the seasons, it doesn’t mean Nine will do the right thing and rush them.
