Todd Lasance pleads guilty, put on good behaviour.

Todd Lasance pleaded guilty to a drugs charge today and received a 12-month good behaviour bond but no conviction was recorded.

Home and Away‘s Todd Lasance pleaded guilty to a drugs charge in a Sydney court this morning.

The charges of possessing a small amount of cocaine followed an arrest in a Kings Cross nightclub in December.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Lasance’s lawyer, Chris Ford, said his client had “a bright future on the international stage” and a conviction would severely hinder his prospects overseas.

“He is a young man who is deserving of another chance,” he said.

But the magistrate said, “It’s all about you, isn’t it?

“You’re in the entertainment industry but I don’t feel entertained by your conduct.”

He imposed a 12-month good behaviour bond, but no conviction was recorded which means he will not have a criminal record if he complies with a good behaviour bond for 12 months.

The Logie winner’s bond was handed down on the very day the Seven soap returns to air. This year it is promising to return storylines to broader values, following a number of headlines for its cast in 2009.

  3. Question for David – on the Neighbours end credits tonight a white on black super came up : For LynnBayonas. Do you know if this great Australian writer/producer died in the last few days? I tried googling it – no info.
I really admired her work on the Sullivans and A Country Practice, aming many others.

  4. He can’t go to Hollywood for a year now, so I guess he will be in the next series of Underbelly? Hey he could have used that as an excuse “I was researching my Underbelly role” Judge would have bought that for sure! lol

  5. So the message the Magistrate sends to children and teenages: possess and take drugs and all you’ll get is a good behaviour bond?

So much for punishment acting as a deterrent. At the very least he should go through drug treatment or tape PSAs warning people on the dangers of drug use.

No wonder we have such a drug problem in Australia and the streets are dangerous after 7pm.

  6. surely the timing of this is not pure coincidence? ch9 sees this as news update 2nd story worthy and i assume 7 does too.

looks like as many people expected he got of easy. no criminal record as of yet would be a relief.
