Minor spoilers: Season 16 of The Amazing Race gets underway in the US on February 14.
This time around the race includes Miss South Carolina, two detectives from Rhode Island, a Father/Daughter team from California, a Newly Dating couple, two moms who are also Attorneys (take that Good Wife!), Brothers who are also Cowboys, High School but Married Sweethearts, a 71yo Grandmother who is a Personal trainer and her granddaughter, an Actress and Voice Over Artist, two Brothers (what -that’s it?), and a Married Asian-American couple from California. The newly-dating pair are former Big Brother contestants.
The teams will start in Los Angeles on the nearly 40,000 mile race that spans five continents and eight countries.
CBS teases that the racers will encounter a World War I re-enactment in France, retrace the early days of The Beatles (Abbey Road anyone?), and come face-to-face with one of the world’s most infamous villains. It will also visit Chile, Argentina, Seychelles and Singapore.
No word on when the show airs on Seven, but could that 9:30 Thursday slot make way for the show?

I love The Amazing Race. I hope it doesn’t move to 7TWO, I don’t get digital TV in my area. Chanel 7, please air this asap…
Yes, bring it on Amazing Race on 7…should be 8.30pm timeslot on Thursday? I think 9.30pm is too late..
Miss South Carolina is the girl who bumbled her way through the “Why can’t 1 in 5 Americans find America on a map?” pageant question.
It’s not in 16:9 or HD unfortunately.
Has not been confirmed if its Liverpool or not. It could also be Hamburg, Germany as they performed early gigs there. There is also a Beatles musuem there too.
Aw they haven’t been to australia for yearss! I wish American tv stations would stop filming their standard definition shows in 4:3 and get with the times. It’s
2010, not 10 A. D.
Please be 16:9!
Exciting stuff.
I expect this to be shunted over to 7TWO. If it is then it should get a prime 7.30 slot somewhere.
Abbey Road is hardly early days of the Beatles and this was already done in the All Stars episode – surely this is a visit to Liverpool
Is the 71-year-old grandmother the oldest contestant on TAR? And doesn’t the early days of The Beatles cover the time the band performed in Liverpool in England? Can’t wait to see this, but I think the 9.30pm Thursday timeslot will given to the new AFL program hosted by Peter Helliar or the new NRL program hosted by Matthew Johns.
