Airdate: Hey Hey it’s Saturday

Nine has confirmed the date for its 2010 version of Hey Hey it's Saturday while staying mum on who is returning.

Nine has confirmed the date for its 2010 version of Hey Hey it’s Saturday as 7:30pm Wednesday April 14 as a two hour show.

It retains it’s traditional name despite the new night.

Nine is yet to clarify how many episodes we are getting of the show this year, or who will appear, but its promo photo features Daryl Somers & Ossie Ostrich.

After a 10-year absence from TV, the first Hey Hey it’s Saturday reunion show attracted a peak audience of nearly four million viewers across Australia, with an average audience of 3,158,000 (5 City Metro and Regional cities).

The second reunion show attracted a peak audience of 3,937,000 viewers and an average of 3,213,000 (5 City Metro and Regional cities).

So Hey Hey it’s Saturday host Daryl Somers is understandably thrilled to bring his unique brand of Aussie entertainment back into the nation’s households once again.

“Assembling the whole gang for the reunion shows was truly a labour of love for me,” said Somers.

“I was humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response to the shows and delighted to be able to present to Australia the sort of entertainment that people so clearly want. We look forward to offering the best in local and international music and laughter in 2010.”

Hey Hey it’s Saturday, the new series, premieres on Wednesday, April 14, at 7.30pm with a two-hour blockbuster.

  1. When Hey Hey was on on a regular basis, they occasionally had specials on Thursday. They changed their name to Hey Hey It’s Thursday when they did the Elton John AIDS benefit concert.

  2. Why can’t channel 9 put Hey Hey its Saturday on the GO! channel at 6:30pm on Saturdays ?? The show was good back then but i hope they update it to a 2010 show & not repeat acts like it’s 1992 again.

  3. I agree with dave March 26, 2010 at 5:28 pm. It’s good to see something different then factuals/reality. But as It’s been said before, It should be on Saturdays, It would be a change then repeats of movies that have been on before many times, many many many times.

  4. Although Only a One Off at this stage It would be nice to have some sort of decent alternative given how Ten shoved off all those decent animated sitcoms for that So You Think You Can Dance for now.
