‘Allo ‘Allo to GO!

GO! has added ‘Allo ‘Allo to its Friday night line-up beginning at 9:40pm Friday March 19th, to follow Black Adder.

It begins with S1E1 and S1E2, replacing a movie.

In honour of this auspicious occasion, I now invite you to list some of the best lines from this classic series.

To kick things off:

  7. Allo Allo, How about showing “Welcome Back Kotter” and “Good Times” both programs are from late 70’s & were great comedys still classics today.

  9. Its a stupid idea to put this on go!
    It has been on uk.tv , 7 , abc , The comedy channel .
    I think there is an ad that sells it on dvd on the infomercials that air everyday !! ,
    and they plan to air double episodes. Of course , to make it easier for them.
    What should be starting on go is – Here’s lucy , Maude or Eve .

  10. @Trent – To add to newtaste’s comment, Alf, Full House, the kids programming between 6am and midday amongst several other shows on the channel (7TWO) are repeats! Sounds familiar… almost like GO!

    If you want to watch movies on a Friday night, how about you tune into Nine, Ten, Seven or 7TWO or even SBS1/2 and even the odd movie on ABC1/2. Those channels often screen movies on a Friday night.

    With the exception of a few added Seinfeld and Big Bang repeats (and movies), every night (maybe not Sat or in some cases Sun) from 8:30pm GO screens new content, or content that has yet been aired on the GO channel in the past. Try saying that about all the other channels! Repeats dominate the prime-time programming schedule for all the other channels on FTA. Is is a very major reason for me watching this channel a fair chunk of my TV watching time.

  11. ‘Allo ‘Allo had been shown on both ABC and Channel Seven before.
    So this is another old BBC program that will be shown on GO!. What’s next? The Two Ronnies?

  18. Put movies back on. I love how GO! are playing all these cool movies at the moment. Don’t put on stupid Blackadder and Allo Allo. And if you did have to put it on, why not during the day? 7TWO has new programming for all twenty-four hours of the day, whereas GO! replays their primetime shows at midday the next day, which is time that could be spent on Blackadder. If fans don’t like the time for Blackadder, they should get a PVR.

    It doesn’t make sense to me why so many people complain about a particular show being on at an inconvenient time. That’s why they invented Personal Video Recorders so that you can tape it and then watch it at a suitable time. What is wrong with people?
