This week in Oslo a draw was held for the running order of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

There are 39 countries competing, including the “Big 4” which automatically proceed to the Final (it helps to finance the event): France, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany. Host nation and 2009 winner Norway also gets the free pass.

  1. I wonder if SBS will open up their interactive website for Eurovision again this year? We had much fun with our version of voting and chatting live last year.

    There is no compulsion on the winner to host the next final. It has happened in the past where the winner chose not to for financial reasons. The last time this happened was 1980

  3. yay! i love eurovision time, I have listened to most of the entires on you tube and a lot of them are really, really awful. The general consensus seems to be nobody wants to win it this year, as most of europe is still quite deep in recession, and other than a shiny trophy, the only prize is the expense of hosting next year and none of the broadcasters seem to want that. Israel is early favourite apparently but im liking Norway for back to back wins
