Kimmel out of Comedy

With the return of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Comedy Channel has removed Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its line-up.

With the return of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Comedy Channel has removed Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its line-up.

And it doesn’t look like he’s coming back anytime soon.

A Foxtel spokesperson told TV Tonight, “The Comedy Channel felt the schedule was crowded with talk shows, and while it trialled Jimmy Kimmel over the last six months, unfortunately it performed below expectations.

“As a result, the Late Night Legends line up has been re-jigged to include The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

Kimmel fans might want to start pestering ABC and seeing if it can get picked up for ABC2.

  1. Why are Foxtel and Channel Ten both showing Letterman re-runs? They’re showing current Leno shows (don’t watch Leno). Letterman is one of the main reasons I have Foxtel. The man has wit and a brain.

Letterman followed by Ferguson and drop Leno and Jimmy Fallon who is seriously lame. Don’t like Kimmel either.

  2. Jimmy Needs to come back on Australian TV.
    It’s just wrong.
David Letterman is on Ch 10 anyway, so right after he finishes on Comedy, he starts on CH 10. How is that fair? And who the hell watches the same show twice in a row?
Kimmel was by far the funniest of the line up after Conan was taken off. Another network really needs to pick up his show..ABC2? Arena? GO? Please??
We can’t even view the clips on YouTube! It’s killing me. I seriously used to look forward to watching Kimmel every night..
Drop Letterman and Leno. Or at least one of them. Leno plays twice a day! 4 times if you include Comedy+2!!
Does anyone even watch Leno anymore? Honestly..

  3. After Conan left Kimmel was the only one worth watching on the late night lineup. Fallon is not funny although he seems to think he is laughing at his own jokes when noone else does followed by awkward silences. How many more SNL cast members is Fallon gonna have on and talk about the good ol days with. No one cares.
If I wanted to watch Letterman I’ can watch him on freee to air.
And don’t even get me started on that scum Jay ‘ I should’ve retired ‘ Leno.
