Nickelodeon logo switch

Nickelodeon Australia will roll out its new logo this Sunday night in conjunction with the US Kids’ Choice Awards.

Nickelodeon Australia will roll out its new logo this Sunday night in conjunction with the US Kids’ Choice Awards at 6:30pm hosted by Kevin James.

The Nick Jr. logo will change at midnight on Sunday.

The new logos follow the US change to a streamlined look and replace the 25-year old “splat” design, with a balloon-like font.

“The One Brand philosophy signifies a new coming of age for Nick Australia,” said Katrina Southon, General Manager of Nickelodeon Australia.

“Implementation of this global network initiative enables Nickelodeon Australia’s continued move toward serving our kid and family audiences through TV, online, consumer products, recreation and theatrical events, and heightening our ability to seamlessly navigate audiences across each of our targeted entertainment platforms.

“Creatively, the update also provides the opportunity for some exciting new graphic interpretations both on-air and off-air, revitalising our audience’s experience of our brands. We’re looking forward to unveiling the new look this weekend with one of the biggest programming events on the Nick calendar – the broadcast of the US Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards,” said Southon.

Nickelodeon moves into its 31st year in the US with the number-one kids’ network in the world.

The Australian arm is in its 15th year.

  1. thanks for changing the nick jr logo but nothings changed (imean same anoncer sill go ollie) cam we have the kingdom of paramithi crew for nick jr insted of ollie

  2. The new logo appeared last night at about 6:30pm. Also, interesting to see that Maude Garret is no longer the host of Camp orange-theis year “Luke and Wyatt” are the hosts.

  3. The websites have been refreshed: Nick’s sticking with the Nick Shack, and made it look good. I hope this is a sign of some “local continuity”, as part of the “One Brand” initiative.

I assume, it will take a while for the GC attractions (Nick Central at Dreamworld and Nickelodeon Pipeline Plunge at WhiteWater World) to make the switch, from splat to no splat.

  4. I’m reposting this in a more current entry. Does anyone know what’s going on with Nickelodeon continuing to play eps of Degrassi? They had two episodes last Friday 19/3, with the second appearing in the planner 3 minutes before it started!

The episodes for this week appeared on the planner last weekend, but disappeared on Monday afternoon to be replaced with Instant Star eps at around 10pm. A single ep (being S4E1) appeared on the planner for Friday 26/3 at 9pm, but last night that disappeared, with episodes now (currently, that is – give it ten minutes) scheduled for Monday night at 10pm – but it’s S4E7!! Where did the other 6 episodes go?

Further investigation this morning via online TV guides seems to indiicate that they are playing episodes at 10pm, just not advertising them or appearing in the planner – so that people cannot record them on their IQs!

Are Nick in the same situation that ABC faced after the Marco/Dylan date episode? I do hope not. They did cut out three minutes of Manny at the abortion clinic, but left Dylan and Marco’s kiss intact!

David, can you shed any light on this?

  5. That’s why we need Nicktoons in Australia, speaking of Nicktoons, have you got Facebook? And by the way, Please join Bring Nicktoons and Disney XD to Australia, it’s so Important that we need more Toon Channels as Nickelodeon and Disney Channel start to Dominate Young Teenagers especially Girls.
Should We need more Kids and Music Channels on Foxtel and Austar, There’s not Many going Around at the Moment and More is what we need and Urgent.

  6. Why is Kevin James the host of this year’s US Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards?. He one of America’s worst excuses for a comedian whose isn’t any funny!.

Nickelodeon used to be a balance of cartoons & scripted teen shows, & now it’s more scripted teen shows (some bad & cheesy) & a few cartoons.
