  1. Can the panel explain why Alan Langer, Broncos trainer is on the field for 95% of
the game only a couple of metres behind play. A lot of people we have spoken
to say he is a substitue coach making it look like a 14 man team. I wonder if
Gus was feeling fit and a trainer and done the same thing with some other team
what would the spectators and Hierachy say, it is very unfair and annoying, the
Broncos are the only team with the trainer on the field for the majority of the game
We would like to hear your comments on this annoying habit, what number would
you put on his back….thank you

  2. I grew up with AFL however I’ve lost interest due to over regulated game rules and in my 12 years in Brisbane have learnt to enjoy your game and especially your team of commentators , dare I make a suggestion that you break your game into thirds instead of two halves I know it would be a huge change but I believe it would look after your players a lot better and take away the regimentation of your interchange as you discussed this morning.

  3. I watched Broncos and Tigers match on friday night.
I noticed that the broncos had 14 players on, most of the game.
Alfy Langer ran on the field behind the five eight and was directing their play, as soon as they, the broncos came into possession.
As soon as the tigers were in possession, he then returned to the side line.
I also noticed that he was pointing to one of the bronco player which side to direct the pass.
Tigers manager I noticed only ventured onto the field on a few occassions.
Why do the refs allow this?

  4. Just went to the Sharks game. What a joke. What is it with Langer being on the field directing the team on every play whilst they are attacking. May as well give him a jersey cause he’s on the field more than some players. what a cheat……Please explain!!!!!!!!

  5. can you tell me if the money that is awarded to players as a reward for Man Of The Match is kept by the nominated player or put into a kitty and shared at the end of the season, and does go towards the salary cap.

  6. I agree with the Melbourne Storm, being penalised, they cheated, however, they are still going to be on the football field this weekend playing with an Illegal Team.

I just hope that they don’t Injury anyone for my Team putting them out for the season….

  7. While I agree with the NRL’s decision to take away the Minor Premierships and Premierships from the Melbourne Storm and the loss of competition points earned so far this year, I cannot see any good coming from them not allowing points to be awarded for wins from now on. The more sensible approach would have been to stand down those players, managers and officials involved and let the rest of the team get on with playing in the competition. Innocent players and fans should not be penalised.

I laugh at the media comments about Manly and Parra being recognised as the premiership winners – there is no guarantee that they would have beaten the team that the Storm beat to get into the Grand Finals.
Love the show – keep up the good work. Graham

  8. Hi Fellows,
we are always going on about scrums, should we keep them or get rid of them?
When rugby league was invented back in the late 1800’s-1900’s,they made the scrum as a way of compeeting to win the ball,a fair and true challenge if refereed correctly,as we all know,it was in use for roughly 80yrs till the early eighties or so.
Its almost embarassing to watch the scrum being fed to the second row,if that.
I think with how fit our fine well tuned forwards are now, would hold up to real challenges of scrums.
    Rregards Brad.

  9. Why can’t State of Origin games be played on the weekend (Friday or Saturday night) which you give all teams the bye to get over injuries etc, plus clubs then don’t miss out on having their big names out for the games during this period. Another bonus is that any player could be brought into the teams at short notice. The week state of Origin is due to be played there would be no Monday night games and teams would be selected on Sunday afternoon and named after Sunday afternoon football. The players would then go into camp on Moday morning and then look to play Friday, Saturday or even Sunday. With the normal scheduling of games to resume after State of Origin.

  10. Re Salary Cap. I would like to see clubs who are retaining their juniors as first graders given some leeway in the salary cap. I feel that the clubs go to all the effort to breed good players and then – because of salary cap rules – they lose them to other clubs. This may encourage other clubs to put more into their juniors development. And would ensure that great players stay with the club they grew up with. And whilst on that – the Melbourne franchise has been successful for the Storm – but how many kids are now playing rugby league in Melbourne compared to before the Storm began?

  11. The ANZAC day test is a good concept and tradition that does truly honour our fallen. However I believe some changes coud better suit the concept.

I feel that the ANZAC day test should reflect the age of the majority of the real ANZAC’s. Showcasing young NRL talent and resting older star players. Please consider the following:

    1. Players should be no older than twenty years of age.
    2. Be only Aust and NZ
    3. Perhaps a Aust and NZ military could play a game against each other in true ANZAC spirit.
    4. Also you could read an honour roll of our recent fallen (20 yrs past) who as with Viet Vets seem to be lacking in recognition.

  12. Die hard Souths Supporter

    Am i correct???

    souths sydney vs sydney roosters

14/03/10 47.30 minute- Sam Perritt Try

Todd Carney leapt from feild of play to flick ball back in to play. After leaving the ground he came in contact with Rhys Wesser (souths) who at the time had his foot over the dead ball line. Would’nt that deem Todd Carney out/ out of play. Which would mean a souths 20 meter tap not a try to sam perritt (roosters). Please support me on this one as i’m the only female in the house and the only one who picked up on it, i’v never seen it happen before. Not one thing said by officials or commentators.

P.S. If i’m right Vossy did you pick up on this???

    thanks Gayle Rabbitoh

  13. Hey Gus re Rabbitts v Roosters and Carney. No no no no yes. “welcome to the top end” – honey, This is the top end and if his attitude has changed you can thank the coach of Atherton football team, his Atherton team-mates and the people of Atherton for helping him out. It might be an idea for other troubled players to go to a country team for a season to bring them back to basics/reality and remind them how lucky they are to have the opportunity to play in the big league (and no, I do not live in Atherton). Regards Rose FNQ

  14. G’day boys. I was surprised to see that referee Phil Hayne is still not refereeing first grade, and hasn’t since he sent off the Cronulla player against Manly last year. It dosn’t send a good message to the game that officials who are willing to make decisions and take action against illegal play will be penalised, does it ?. Take care guys, love the show Pete.
