The camera loved perfectionist Charmaine, says colleague.

Former colleague Tim Webster has told an inquest into the death of Charmaine Dragun how her being a perfectionist impacted on her mood.

At the inquest into the death of TEN News presenter Charmaine Dragun, co-anchor Tim Webster has praised his former colleague noting how the perfectionist in her would impact on her mood.

Dragun died at The Gap in 2007 following a battle with depression.

“She was a terrific newsreader,” he said.

“She had tremendous phrasing and annunciation and a beautiful voice.

“And, at the risk of sounding sexist, she was a very pretty girl. The camera loved her, particularly those beautiful eyes of hers.”

But she would also take it hard if she thought she had made a mistake.

“When Charmaine got down on herself, she would be very down.”

Her final news broadcast, which she called her “worst ever,” was played to the inquest at the Coroner’s Court in Glebe today. In the video, she stumbled on just two words.

Webster said he was never aware she was depressed or taking anti-depressants.

The inquest continues.
