When the boss of the network reckons a show is “shit” (his words not mine) it’s a big ask for the rest of the country to support it.
Seven has pulled Cougar Town and How I Met Your Mother from its Thursday line-up effective immediately.
They will be replaced by repeats of Criminal Minds. Added to Wednesdays, that means it’s now repeating twice a week.
With The Bounce also pulled from some cities, Thursdays have had a major overhaul by Seven.
Melb / Ade / Per
7:30 The Vicar of Dibley rpt
8:45 Criminal Minds rpt
9:45 The Amazing Race (new)

7TWO will also be pulling Heartbeat from 7:30 Thursdays to be replaced by Airline USA from May 6. May have been too similar to Vicar of Dibley audience and splits the Seven audience.
No word on when or where the two US comedies will resume.

You need a new boss! I loved Cougar Town! It was great to have something new on instead of repeats. With all the great shows and movies out there you insist on playing the same ones over and over again. All I can say is thank God for Austar and channel 10
Well that just sucks but so typical of Australian tv. We really liked Cougar Town. (Bill Lawrence who also does Scrubs and (previously) Spin city is brilliantly funny, but apparently too high brow for the channel 7 boss. what a d**k. No wonder the Matty John’s show is on.. says a lot..cause Matty john’s is such a stand up guy and deserves a program.. what crap!! Reruns of Criminal Minds,… and over a ten.. endless reruns of NCIS ooh how exciting for the aussie viewer!! bring on the down loads.. oh yeah we don’t have digital cable in this country either..
Channel 7 bosses.. you suck!
Not Happy Can’t Belive you have axed Cougar Town The only thing on Channel Seven that was worth watching !!!!!
HIMYM and couger town are really good shows and thursday nights were awesome on ch 7 now once again ch 7 is shit!! put them back on!!!!!
I will no longer watch any new shows on channel 7 sick of falling in love wiith them to have you just take them off I will be only be buying tv on DVD
Seven
Why do you always have to axe all of your good shows. im statring to watch you less and less ever since my name is earl was axed and now you have goten rido of HIMYM Shame on you Seven shame on you
In fairness to Seven they played all of Earl.
Criminal minds is the most boring show i think i’ve ver watched. HIMYM is the second greatest show Ever on tv. i reguarly rewatch the seasons 1-3. This is a disgrace it just shows how bad ch7 are. network run by douchebags. they couldnt even show it instead of flashforward at 10.30 which has the stupidest storyline.
You wont improve your ratings with repeats…
Or the CRAP programs you seem to LIKE
i love criminal minds but not repeats when i know that they continue to make new nes in the u.s. its sucks that they arent on at all, im mean theres a lot of time im sure theres somwhere they could fit them in, i never watch repeats on tv because i have them on dvd.
i also love HIMYM and i hope they realise they have made a big mistake, i suppose when they see this weeks rating even worse than last week they might realise
Seven, you are bunch of muppets! You have nothing worth watching now so I guess good luck sorting your sh*t out. In the mean time, I’ll be watching Glee on ten.
Nice one 7! HIMYM was the only show I watch on your braindead network and now you pulled it mid season. I’m not a fan of cougar town, but seriously – repeats of criminal minds??? That is your plan to boost ratings???
Pull your head in ch 7, what a complete farce. HIMYM is one of the better shows on your station and you throw the old axe at it.
Now i’m lumbered with talking to my zumba sister for half an hour instead, god help me!
The ratings system is flawed. Surely it is time to review how the ratings are calculated.
seven has just cut 2 of the only shows i would watch on this network. as if seven wasnt already s**t enough
*sigh* Sad? Yes. Surprised?
It’s this simple: Channel 7 — you had me, and now you’ve lost me. So thank you for giving me my Thursday nights back – maybe I’ll go to the gym instead!
not happy they pulled it at the last minute, but i suppose at least we saw episode number 100. channel 7 had their programming perfect now there isnt anything worth tuning into. Lost i watch by other means, Family Guy new episodes are done (though not in its prime anymore) and i thought they were showing new episodes of American dad now?
It makes you wonder is all year non-ratings these days with all the repeats. I have to say Couger Town isn’t one of my faves but How I Met Your Mother is. I agree with those of you that have suggested moving these shows to 7two. Even if it means getting rid of some of the infomercial programming which I loathe.
To all those complaining – seven are losing ratings. They tried the current combination, it failed. They are not a charity keeping the shows on because of a few people online like them, no, they care about ratings. Thursday was the worst night for seven, they are changing it. They are getting rid of American sit coms because, aside from 2.5 men, they suck in the ratings category.
Thanks JB,I do tend to plagiarize a little but this one was mine, did you get the Double entendre at the end?
Well done Channel 7 – no wonder your channel rates so poorly. 2 of the best shows in a long time and you wan**rs pull them off the air – keep going you clearly dont want any viewers
Seven should air 30Rock and Parks and Recreation on a thursday night with American Dad. That would be awesome
Seven’s new lineup will not be successful. The only reason why The Matty Johns Show is still rating well is because of the NRL scandal and is now trying to imitate the serious talk that is done well on The Footy Show.
Amazing Race should be at 7:30 and Matty Johns 9:30, but they obviously want to keep The Matty Johns Show in a family timeslot, even though the show doesn’t suit this aim.
and yet they still wonder why people download…
and I bet Seven will be happy when the Criminal Minds spinoff airs, they’ll finally have a consistent show for Thursday nights.
I remember when Criminal Minds was on 3 times a week last year, that was ridiculous
