Returning: Amazing Race. Bumped: Flashforward. Gone: Family Guy, American Dad

Updated: Seven bumps FlashForward to 10:30pm to make way for The Amazing Race and throws in a How I Met Your Mother marathon.

That was faster than a race to the pit stop.

Seven has already adjusted its Thursday line-up after its poor performance last night.

In two weeks’ time it will premiere the new series of The Amazing Race at 9:30pm.

FlashForward
is being pushed back to a 10:30pm start.

That knocks new Family Guy episodes out of schedule, plus plans for new American Dad episodes (repeats of the latter will remain at 11:30pm beginning next Thursday).

The changes take effect from April 29th.

UPDATED: Seven now also adds a 3 episode marathon of How I Met Your Mother (“The Window / Last Cigarette Forever / Girls vs Suits [100th ep]”) to 9pm April 22 with a single FlashForward episode at 10:30pm.

The latest season of The Amazing Race only has 3 more episodes remaining in the US so watch out for them internet spoilers!

See you at the pit stop.

  1. That Was Seven’s Biggest Mistake Dumping a Footy Show on at 7:30pm.There is nothing more frustrating while waiting to watch Cougartown than seeing some disgusting bogan orientated programme. In our house we watch Getaway on Nine and switch over when Ghost Whisperer was around for the final few minutes of that before the comedies.I am aware Seven Two has some of the older comedies but why not a that’s 70’s or 80’s show or other nineties/21st Century programme in there.I would have to say This Side of the 5pm Mash Reruns Aside Seven has made a big mistake with their programming most nights of the week.

  2. @ Ryaneco ‘very very heavily male dominated 7.30 lineup then move into a very heavily female dominated night at 8.30 then back to male with FlashForward’

You might want to re-check your sources.

  3. i predicted that FF would go to 10:30 shortly after it started if it was going to 7. if it went to 7two it could have had a better chance don’t know what 7 were expecting.

  4. Why does the the 11:30pm timeslot need to be a repeat of American Dad when they could use a first run show such as Parks and Recreation and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia for example?

  5. Yay for this. Been waiting so long for it however not happy that Family Guy and American Dad is gone. I think Flash Forward should move to 7TWO. Although there isnt a slot for it unless they bump Prime Suspect back to 9:30pm which is fine by me. Beats whatever else is on on Thursdays. Its such a sucky night of television. Although Glee is back in 2 weeks so that will fill the void. Now thats a show i cant wait for

  6. ryaneco – good line up, however would be good to lose the footy shows altogether and have something better in that time.

They should have waited a few days to see the overnight/timeshift ratings. It could pick up considerably.

  7. I wish seven would moved flash forward to 8:30pm (any night) on 7two, and maybe shove it in a 11:30pm on 7/7hd like they do with Lost. Yeah the ratings suck, but those (like me) that have got into the series deserve it.

    Just my 2c worth.

  8. Again begs the question why 7 didn’t start the new season of TAR at the 9:30 Thursday timeslot back in February when viewers were asking for it instead we got repeats of TGYH?

  9. What rubbish ,Family Guy needs to stay and American Dad is so completely underrated, get rid of the bounce and flash forward or at least put Family Guy and American Dad on 7Two,at least it will give people choice

  10. Wow that was a fast schedulign change. I do look forward to the new series… quirky characters and travelling around the world from my lounge room!

Not sure if it will save Thursday nights for Ch7. When the last series aired over summer, in my view it struggled in the ratings a bit…

Glad to have to back, slightly overdue though!!

  11. Nope, Nope, Nope.

Sorry The night is flopping due to the Footy Show incompatible leadin at 7.30; they’ve gone for a very very heavily male dominated 7.30 lineup then move into a very heavily female dominated night at 8.30 then back to male with FlashForward at 9.30 its a mess of a night a complete mess.

The Footy Shows would be better suited late night but that isn’t going to happen because Seven won’t want to go head to head with Nine’s Footy Shows.

Schedule would look alot better if they ran

    7.30 – Amazing Race
    8.30 – How I met Your Mother
    9.00 – Cougar Town
    9.30 – Footy Shows
    10.30 – Flashforward.

  12. Not happy Channel Seven. I was loving the new episodes of Family Guy. What am I going to do now?

I hope The Amazing Race is good, but it never hooks me in anymore. The only season I ever liked was the one where Chip and Kim won. I did like the episode of the last season where one of the girls wouldn’t go down the slide. But still, they haven’t been up to a good standard lately.

Seven should put new Family Guy and American Dad after The Pacific.
