The seventh and final season of The Shield with Michael Chiklis will begin airing on TEN next week.

Here’s a surprise, the seventh and final season of The Shield will begin airing on TEN next week.

The series, starring Michael Chiklis, ended in the US in November 2008.

“Coefficient Of Drag,” the first episode of the seventh season, aired in September 2008.

It returns to TEN at 12am Thursday April 15 (that’s Wednesday night of course) following Letterman.

Vic and Ronnie attempt to deal with the serious repercussions of Shane’s involvement with the Armenians. A federal agent arrives to help investigate a recent wave of violence in Farmington. Meanwhile, a man who was acquitted of his wife’s murder two years ago comes into the Barn to confess that he was responsible.

  1. Channel 10 you are a joke. The Shield is on then off with no notice or regard to the viewers. Get your act together channel 10. I have to borrow DVD’s in order to watch this great show.

  2. Awesome news. It deserved much better treatment but I suspect that it was too gritty for the tastes of the general TV viewing audience. Think the last season I saw was S5 as I didn’t get an HD STB until shortly before One started.

  3. Virtually all Aus fans of The Shield have already seen it. The last season got disrupted when Ten decided to foolishly ditch 10HD and launch One HD.

  4. @Neon Kitten – Ditto. This was a brilliant show and didn’t deserve the shoddy programming it got from Channel 10. If you haven’t seen it watch it. You actually get closure.

  5. Wow, that’s surprising (and obviously a burn-em-off-before-the-rights-expire thing). This season seems so, so long ago to me now.

Stunning season, by the way, for those few fans of the show that haven’t already seen it. Rarely has a TV series been concluded so breathtakingly well.

  6. Been binging my way through the Shield these past few weeks, up to episode 6 of Season 7. Can’t wait to see how it ends.

You can’t exactly just jump in to season 7, so I suspect any fans have already seen it on DVD.
