This Friday SBS airs the first of three Eurovision specials in the lead up to Oslo 2010.

The series introduces all 39 participants and goes behind the scenes to show the preparations for Europe’s annual pop-fest and references the history of the contest.

  1. David, this year’s Eurovision Countdown programmes are produced by Norway’s NRK for the European Broadcasting Union, according to eurovision.tv. They’re also already available to watch on Eurovision’s official YouTube channel.

  2. I like these prep shows. You get a look at the songs, properly. So when they butcher it in the main event, singing out of tune and out of synch, it’s not so bad.

  3. Last year’s Countdown to Eurovision series was very good even though I watched it after the event . I never want to lessen the spontaneous horror of the hearing the songs on the actual nights! So I’ve got the PVR ready to go for Friday..!
