Bret Michaels suffers “warning stroke”

Bret Michaels has been hospitalised again after a "warning stroke," with doctors also discovering a hole in his heart.

Reality TV star Bret Michaels has been hospitalised again after now suffering what doctors call a “warning stroke” and experiencing numbness on the left side of his body, particularly in his face and hands.

While undergoing tests, including an MRI and CT scan, doctors also discovered he has a patent foramen ovale, otherwise known as a hole in the heart.

Doctors said, “The good news is that it is operable and treatable and we think we may have diagnosed the problem that caused the…warning stroke; however we feel it is highly unlikely this is connected to the brain hemorrhage he suffered just a few weeks earlier. Once again, it is great that he quickly reacted to the severe numbness and got to the hospital immediately.”

Tests were being conducted to determine the best course of treatment. He is currently being treated with a daily injection of a blood thinner to reduce the risk of clots.

His official website says Michaels was “up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive.

“He has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again,” the site says.

Michaels’ expected appearance at the finale of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice may now be in question.

  1. A quick look in any encyclopedia would be enough reason to argue with them David, or simply take the word of someone in the medical industry 😉 Just remember, press are just that, reporters, not scientists or doctors.

But a hop onto wikipedia (eg here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foramen_ovale_(heart) , or any source, will in fact tell you that it is a patent foramen ovale (foramen basically means opening or gap… forum means public discussion).

But up to you, I doubt anyone else will notice.

  2. lol, David, I think you mean a patent foramen ovale, not forum ovale. wow, does this mean I was actually paying attention during a lecture…?
