Benidorm looks like being a short-lived idea on Seven.
An amendment from Seven indicates it won’t be airing in its Thursday night slot for much longer. It will be replaced by a yet to be determined show.
Whether it pops back in another timeslot remains to be seen.
In Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth where it aired on Thursday, the show was beaten by both Glee and Sea Patrol.
At this stage it remains in schedule for May 27 and June 3.
Seven’s Thursday’s look like getting another programming tweak. The Amazing Race is airing in double eps and will finish June 10. Meanwhile The Vicar of Dibley will air 6:30pm Saturday on June 5th.
Benidorm was originally planned to air on 7TWO.

I know, why not replace the superbly written and acted Benidorm with a hilarious Australian comedy… oh yes sorry I forgot, there aren’t any.
Seven is playing out first season of Benidorm, but there were plans to run into second.
Seven should give this series to the ABC where it belongs. They obviously have no idea what to do with it.
Put Benidorm back on on another night/time. There’s plenty of room for ll the shows to please us viewers. You can’t expect to win every slot Seven. Darn stupid ratings system…
This show is hilarious, l mainly watch watch SBS & ABC cause lm over crappy reality shows & other rubbish the commercials offer but this is a winner
totally agree with peter better homes on thursday live footy friday night
Thank God it’s gone. It wasn’t my cup of tea and I found the ads offensive.
Seven really need to do something with their Thursday line up and totally agree with @JB’s line up.The Amazing Race is a family show and I still don’t get why Seven put it on so late.
I watch Benidorm on Foxtel and love it. Who cares about FTA TV these days anyway? They show wall-to-wall ads with snippets of programs thrown in, mostly cheap rubbish pretend-documentaries and the like.
Very little scripted drama left, sadly.
I’ve been watching this on UKTV where season 3 just finished. The show is hilarious! One of the funniest modern British comedy series. It only gets better as it goes a long. vIt’s a shame they didn’t give this a chance, it’d need to build an audience.
@JB – Awesome schedule!!! I would watch Seven all night!
I saw the first episode shown in Australia on Thursday and crap like this is living proof Seven did the wrong thing by axing How I met your Mother and to a lesser degree Cougar Town. Some of you might find those US Sitcoms rubbish but I would rather put up with either than watch another week of Benidorm.Assuming I am home on a Thursday Night It is back to SBS and their cooking programmes from here on in.
i was really looking forward to this (and waited since January when it was supposed to be shown), and taped Thursday night’s show to watch over the weekend, but given Seven has shafted it I don’t think I will bother now. Good way to kill viewer interest in a show, Seven.
And also note to Seven, enough of The Amazing Race double episodes stretching to almost midnight. Another way to kill viewer interest in a show.
Who cared about Benidorm? i certainly didn’t.
It was ok (or at least the first half was before I switched over to Psychoville). The trouble with having a show full of unpleasant/unattractive characters is that it’s difficult to empathise with any of them. You need something else to offset that such as more obvious/outrageous humour like in Little Britain.
Psychoville sidesteps this by making the characters so bizarrely unattractive in the first place, that they have a built-in OMG-factor.
Note to self: don’t eat dinner while watching Psychoville. I could almost taste that piece of sausage as Maureen fed it to her adult son after chewing it for him.
Come on Seven, the move is obvious:
Better Homes and Gardens to Thursday 7.30
Friday Night Football to Friday 7.30
Good.
7.30 The Amazing Race
8.30 30 Rock
9.00 How I Met Your Mother
9.30 Cougar Town
10.00 Parks & Recreation
Or get rid of the bloody factuals and put these comedy shows on at 7.30/8pm.
Seven use to be my Thursday station. Now it’s over to Ten. Is that they were hoping to do?? Turn viewers away from their station.
Didn’t watch the show but here we go yet another programme where viewers won’t see what resembles a conclusion anytime soon. Looks like if viewers want to see a complete series then its the DVD box set as an option.
There’s plenty American rubbish that it could replace.
i hope they bring back how I met your Mother as doubles. These British comedies are junk
Does anyone even watch Seven on Thu anymore….. meh
so they will air all of season 1. perhaps season 2 is still locked in with foxtel?
