Logie Awards 2010: Gallery

The 52nd TV Week Logie Awards played it safe this year, but there were big wins by Seven, TEN and SBS.

The 52nd TV Week Logie Awards are underway at Crown Palladium.

The show opened with Gabriella Cilmi and dancers from Fame performing before Bert Newton emerged to a standing ovation and a rousing cheer -of course. The Logies host had come home.

“Thankyou ladies and gentleman and executives,” he said.

Newton then launched into a traditional routine, including a gag at Christine Nixon’s expense.

  1. It was worth it just for the look on Darryl Sommers face when losing The Light Entertainment Logie. I bet he had his best “shocked” face ready too. Not that any of us would know what that looks like…right?

  2. Hasn’t been a very kind night for Nine thus far, a part from the NRL Footy Show picking up a nod. Darryl’s expression when Hey Hey lost in Light Entertainment was gold!

  3. 10.10pm … Enjoying the Logies so far … but why, once again, do we have people (Cilmi, Mayer) who have nothing to do with the television industry singing songs (‘their latest singles”?) that have nothing to do with television.

I just don’t get it. Never have.

Why not a clever satirical and relevant opening number, or a new take on some famous Australian television theme songs.

Oh no. Why bother. Let’s just get an artists or a band (Rogue Traders) or whomever is available to crank out their latest song.

    Aarrrgggghhhhh!

(At least a clear connection was made between ‘memorable television moments’ and kd lang’s performance on this years broadcast of the Winter Olympics ceremony.)

  4. I dont like the voting system especially in the most popular sports program, When the worst sports show will win (ie NRL Footy Show) over others mainly due to there being two AFL shows splitting the votes and only one NRL show

  5. KD lang was incredible, Gabrielle Chilmi was horrendous, I think Bert’s doing a great job. I don’t agree with any of the winners so far, bar Shaun Micallef. I can’t Packed To The Rafters has won anything, but then again I think its the worst thing on TV and yet it seems to rate through the roof. I don’t know why Home and Away is in the same category as its more “soap” than “drama”, although I don’t think rafters is all that dramatic either. All I care for is the comedy guys and so far they’re winning 🙂

  6. very network biased red carpet. did 7 arrive at the last minute to throw off 9’s coverage again?

bert started off well but he was struggling to string sentences together after a few mins.

  7. sorry, just have to take a phone call – Oh wait it’s 1992 ringing wanting their Logie set back !

Really average opener and average looking set !!!

I feel this is going to be a long long night

  8. Why did Melbourne just gets Sydney news update !!! obviously there is no-one at home at GTV9 – they must all be down at the crown
