Smallville executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are taking over scripting duties on a new version of Charlie’s Angels for the ABC Network. They ran Smallville for seven seasons before exiting the show in 2008. Both have also written Shanghai Noon and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.”
They will take over from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles‘ Josh Friedman.
Producing the series are Drew Barrymore, Leonard Goldberg (who produced the original 1976-81 series) and Nancy Juvonen. The new Angels is expected to be geared toward a new generation while paying homage to the past.
Original Angel Farrah Fawcett passed away last year while actor John Forsythe, the voice of Charlie, died earlier this year.

Do we really need another “Charlie’s Angels” or has Hollywood run out of ideas?
Charlie’s Angels may do well, it depends on whether they go for an all fresh, unknown cast, or go for a star studded one, this might actually do well if it follows ABC’s comedy block in my opinion.
The next seasons new shows actually look pretty good, LOL there go my HDs in uni…
I’m really excited about this but it’s success and quality will all come down to one thing, casting.
Smallville is garbage!
They will ruin this!!
this could be fun, hopefully they get that cyborg chick from Sarah Chronicles to play one of the angels!
If it is anything like the movies it should be fun.
Oh, this is going to be dreadful.
