Tension at Kerri-Anne?

There is speculation that relations between Kerri-Anne Kennerley and producer Tom Malone have become strained.

Following speculation that Catriona Rowntree was fishing for Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s TV job yesterday, today the Daily Telegraph reports relations with producer Tom Malone have become strained.

It reports the relationship has been eroded by Malone moving the show into a smaller production studio and trying to transform the show into a Today-style chat-fest.

Malone was put at the helm of the show following the departure of long-time Executive Producer Jebby Philips late last year.

There is speculation Catriona Rowntree could also take the role over the summer break.

But that’s a long way off. Expect this one to be sorted well before then.

  3. Three cheers for KAK she deserves it just for her sheer guts and longevity if Tom Malone thinks he can tell KAK what to do he needs to wake up to himself the KAK make big money for the network something he cant nor Ms Catriona Rowntree !!

  4. I don’t blame KAK. Its all these people ( producers) that were not around when real variety was at its peak. The show now is just boring – fast paced but just plan boring, driven by celebrity rubbish. I haven’t seen any local artists on the show this year – the silly producers have cut all this out – they show needs to get back into the main studio, throw in a band and audience and get this show alive. Its just dead – if it was hosted by anyone else other then KAK it wouldn’t be on. She holds the strings – producers need to take notice of this woman with ideas. Otherwise its on thin ice and KAK doesn’t deserve to end her career like this. Other people behind the scenes are destroying not just the show, but KAK from our screens.

  6. Producers come and go but the ‘talent’ will win out in the end. I don’t see KAK rolling over for her production team. They will continue to tweak it, but a clash with an on air star and one with her longevity will have to be sorted. Daily Tele really has it in for her right now!
