The Hard Times of R.J. Berger: trailer

Check out this new US series that sounds like Hung meets The Wonder Years.

Here’s a look at trailers for The Hard Times of R.J. Berger, a new MTV series in the US which sounds like Hung meets The Wonder Years.

R.J. Berger, played by Paul Iacono, is a 15-year-old stuck on the bottom rung of the high school social ladder.

But on his way to manhood he has one asset all the other boys envy.

Such attributes allow him to gravitate from ridiculously shy to winning attention from his dream girl and avoiding daily beatings from the school’s top jock.

MTV is branding it “a loud, funny, raunchy, sexy look at the life of lovable loser.”

Somebody call the Family Association, they’re going to need some new adjectives if this gets an airing here…

The first promo is very nicely…packaged.

  1. Just when you think American television could not sink any lower, MTV dazzles us with yet more inane, tawdry and pathetic attempts at comedy aimed at pre pubescent morons without two brain cells to rub together.

Times like this I’m thankful the Australian television industry cannot afford to make shows like this abomination.

  2. I am sure it will be pounded mercilesly by the fundies. but it will come good in the end. After Cougar Town, I doubt it will see light of day here. We seem to be regressing. Just wish sometimes the silent majority might find a voice 🙂
