An ABC reporter dropped the F-bomb during a live cross on Perth’s ABC News last night.
Alicia O’Flaherty was to give an introduction to a story on a protest over the government’s proposed mining tax but was clearly having some audio difficulties.
Kudos to the newsreader for sailing on without batting an eyelid.

“yawn” No big deal, its only a word.
Hardly even noticeable. Move on, nothing to see (or hear) here.
as a former live tv director I say …sh1t happens…live is live….move on.
I thought it just showed she is natural 🙂 good looking chick!
who the hell cares? i’ve never understood why people get offended from hearing that word! in the US you simply cannot say it. luckily we aren’t that extreme here…but still, hearing some comments on this page calling for her to be sacked are just stupid.
Another current ABC staffer did the same thing – worse even – at GWN some years ago. She kept her job.
Should be an instant sacking!
LOL! bravo to the newsreader xD
She is not the first to drop the F Bomb on TV, and won’t be the last!!!!!
I’m more concerned about the newsreaders “pointy shoulder pads”…..
Karina Carvalho is close to Perth’s best newsreader, along with Narelda Jacobs on Channel 10 – very good to see strong, young people in these roles.
Ignoring the Star Trek jacket for a moment, as a non-WA viewer, that newsreader is stunning! 🙂
Hardly a story. But what’s up with the news readers shoulders? Terrible jacket.
Fired
Terrible. What is it with young reporters these days? This wouldn’t have happend ‘back in the day’. I miss Alicia Gorey more than ever!
Never mind the cross… that newsreaders delivery is as stiff as an ironing board!
Please… who doesnt say it?
Fortunately it aint 1965 anymore and dropping the ‘f-bomb’ on live tv is about as controversial as saying ‘bum’…oops, I just cussed!
Just plain unprofessional if you ask me.
It was more of a “fah”.
whilst we will never know the real reason for the stuff up i suspect the technology isnt always as reliable as the manufacturers like to think, i also heard not long ago that staffing levels were being cut as peoples jobs were replaced with technology to do the same thing. Its not the first or last time these types of on air problems have been happening at the ABC, i expect more will happen
Amen Camo. Whenever you are miked up, and whether you are on or not, make like the Queen and keep it clean – do not swear!!
wow that just wasnt a mistake that was just stupid…when will journos and infact all on air presenters ever learn…. microphone about means no gutter talk…so funny…
