East West 101 replay

Missed it last time round? SBS is about to repeat Season Two of award-winning crime series, East West 101.

Award winning SBS drama East West 101 series two will be repeated from Wednesday, 21 July at 8.30pm on SBS ONE.

The replay follows the series being previously slated against tough competition including Packed to the Rafters and NCIS.

The series has garnered an enviable trophy cabinet including the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Drama Series and the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actor for Don Hany plus AFI Awards for Best Television Drama Series, Best Lead Actress in a Television Series for Susie Porter and Best Direction in Television for Peter Andrikidis.

It recently won a Gold Medal for Best Mini-series at the New York Festivals International Television and Film Awards.

East West 101 follows members of a major crime squad including Muslim cop Zane Malik (Don Hany) and fellow detective Sonny Koa (Aaron Fa’Aoso) as they investigate felony and murder in Sydney. The squad is led by Inspector Patricia Wright (Susie Porter). Series two introduces a number of new characters, amongst them Wright’s brother Craig Deakin (Gyton Grantley) and Agent Richard Skerritt (Gerald Lepkowski).

Producers Steve Knapman & Kris Wyld said, “Winning all the awards, topped off by a Gold Medal in New York and the incredible reception we received at the SBS Showcase in Parliament House in Canberra, has been overwhelming.

“But such acknowledgement is also a great encouragement as we move into the third Season. We are really striving to keep elevating the series, trying always to do better, and to deliver something very special to our audience that they will not find on any other network.”

East West 101 will return for a third series in early 2011 with Susie Porter, Don Hany and Aaron Fa’Aoso, exploring the fallout from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through crimes committed in Australia.

The new series is currently in pre-production.

  1. Please watch this.
Don’t worry about missing seasons one.
This is too good a show, which doesn’t feature solving everything within 44 minutes, to be lost in the sea of rubbish.

  2. I have watched the last two seasons, and it’s a great show. I just hope that it doesn’t air against Rafters next year so that the first run 3rd season can be seen by more people
