First look at the full trailer for Hawaii Five-0 is pretty impressive (even if the opening shot looks very Lost… and that’s before Daniel Dae Kim steps into shot).

Will it be enough for Alex O’Loughlin to have a hit? Hopefully.

The show reportedly has a stack of location scenes, taking full advantage of its stunning backdrop.

Coming to TEN.

  1. This is going to be as successful as the remake of “The Night Stalker” — far too iconic to remake for old fans and the new ones will tire of this since it’s like practically every other cop show at the moment.

Have to agree with Bronster–the character of Steve McGarrett was a no-nonsense, straight down the line chief of this special ‘Five-O’ squad, answerable only to the Governor of Hawaii. Danny Williams was a young detective who was the perfect backup as was Chin-Ho Kelly who seemed to always know more about Hawaii and Hawaians than he’d tell Steve and co. The fact is, it was this iron dedication to fight crime was what made the show worth watching, and while this is only a trailer, I don’t know how this will go down in the US when the show premieres–way too laid back and jokey: well, it is 40 years later, everything these days is.

Since practically everyone involved with the original show is dead (James McArthur and a couple others still around), nobody should take too much offence–still, I think I’ll stick to my dvd season sets….
