The Eagles will perform two songs on Hey Hey, after Daryl Somers flew to the US for a rare interview, their first in three years.

The Eagles will perform two songs on Hey Hey it’s Saturday tomorrow night, after Daryl Somers flew to the US for a rare interview, their first in three years (and no, they are not in studio).

US band Train will perform their double platinum single Hey, Soul Sister live in the studio. Winners of the Generations in Jazz National Stage Band Award, Wesley College Big Band will perform Birdland.

Actor, comedian and musician Bill Bailey, will judge Red Faces alongside Peter Phelps and Red Symons.

Channel V’s Danny Clayton will report from the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.

Returning to the show is Penne Dennison, joining Livinia Nixon and Suze Raymond for the segment, What On Earth Are They Talking About?

Ossie Ostrich also appears again.

It airs live 7:30pm Wednesday on Nine.

    it gets pretty boring sometimes and you make me laugh.

    i brought my kids up watching hey hey ,it was family time.

  2. Sadly. the fact that “Hey Soul Sister”, one of the most annoying and overplayed songs on radio will be sung on the show will drive the viewers away in their thousands!

    I was under the impression that Judith Darham wanted nothing more to do with it – in fact I read she had sold off all of her Seekers memorbilia in order to ‘break with the past’

  4. Whilst I loathe Hey Hey I do love the irony of The Eagles performing on the show. Don Henley once said that the Eagles will perform together “when hell freezes over” several years before reforming the band.
    Didn’t Sommers say a similar thing about Hey Hey once?
