Media columnist wraps in The Australian

Amanda Meade today published her last Diary column, ending a ten year feature of the newspaper's Media section.

The Australian’s Amanda Meade today published her last Diary column, ending her ten year feature of the newspaper’s Media section.

As a watchdog of television, print and related media, Meade’s newsbreaking and style has been as feared as it has been adored.

Her enviable contacts in the television industry has seen her break countless stories that have resonated into the wider media landscape, many of which have been logged by this website.

Occasionally, television execs have been so incensed they have taken to writing Letters to the Editor as a right of reply.

But every week they would still check the column to read about their rivals.

A number of journos and industry folk are offering their congratulations on Twitter including ABC PM presenter Mark Colvin, Media Watch‘s Jonathan Holmes, Sunday Herald Sun’s Luke Dennehy, Mediaweek’s James Manning, Karen Middleton from SBS, Crikey’s Sophie Black, and The Age’s Tony Wright.

Meade remains with The Australian covering the media landscape and can be found on Twitter at @meadea.

TV Tonight looks forward to her continued analysis of the industry for many more years.

  1. An unrivalled observer, questioner and commentator with a light touch and a wicked sense of humour. I look forward to Amanda’s media landscapes like I do the sunrise after the sunset.
