Renewed: The Cleveland Show

FOX renews the Seth MacFarlane animated comedy for a third season.

It didn’t particularly set the ratings on fire here, but FOX has renewed its animated series The Cleveland Show for a third season.

The Seth MacFarlane comedy, which is the only FOX series revolving around minority characters, was granted a second season early in its run.

The second season will feature guest voices Justin Timberlake, Tony Hawk, Snoop Dogg and the cast of Glee.

Most recently in Australia it aired at 10pm on Mondays but was replaced.

  1. I personally can’t believe it even made it past the pilot. I love American Dad and Family Guy (even with the latter’s inconsistencies), but this is just crap. They’ve turned Cleveland into Peter (or moreover all of Peter’s worst traits) and just transplanted the family dynamics of the other two shows into this one. Maybe it’ll improve (the first year of FG looks pretty terrible in retrospect), but I’ll sit things out for a while until it does.

  2. I hope they have the decency to bring back Cleveland after Good News Week.Who seriously wants to watch what is essentially a grown up’s High School Musical on a Monday Night Before the late night news anyway with that Glee tripe.

  3. @Harry. This show regularly gets the lowest figures of any of the Fox animated line-up, so I’d say this should be getting the chop before the Simpsons.

  4. Why don’t they do the Animation Fication they did during Summer? Loved that!!

The Simpsons has certainly lost it and don’t know why FOX doesn’t axe it,

  5. @ Paull: Futurama will premiere in the U.S. later this month. Ten will most likely air it later in the year alongside stockpiled episodes of The Simpsons and Cleveland.

  6. Great news! When I first heard about a cleavland spinoff show, I thought ‘how boring’ because I’d never really warmed to the cleveland character. But, I was completely proven wrong, it’s quite the entertaining show.

I think fox should dump American dad, it died a long time ago.

Speaking of futurama, when do we see the new eps on our tv screens?0

  7. I can’t believe it got a second season, let alone a third…. I don’t get what the demographic is for this show – it hasn’t got *any* of the edginess, crudity or hilarity that AD and FG have.

It seems to be a morals-based animated series aimed at 10-15 year olds. Certainly belongs on ABC 3, not TEN prime time.
