Renewed: True Blood

Yay! True Blood has been renewed for another twelve episodes by HBO.

Try not to look surprised.

True Blood has been renewed for a fourth season by HBO. As if there was any doubt, the show is hot.

The vampire series has been renewed for another 12 episodes. Enough to keep you wanting more.

The third season is currently airing in the US. This season includes not only Australia’s Ryan Kwanten but also Grant Bowler as a werewolf.

“The new season of True Blood is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics,” said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. “We’re looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year.”

Ball said, “I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew.

“This is the most fun I have ever had.”

Season Three will air from 8:30pm Thursday August 19th on Showcase.

  1. i havent watched mystar here in australia because ive been waiting for trueblood season three, i know this sounds weird not obsessive and stalkish though but im looking forward to seeing more of erics offsider though ‘pam’ she has a wicked sense of humour and a appealing wicked beauty on the flipside though i wonder if they will reveal what sookie is and the werewolves will be a nice touch, remember do bad things[just joking] from a hooked fan ‘col’ warwick, queensland.australia p.s. twilight has nothing on trueblood.

  2. Having just powered my way through all the Sookie Stakehouse novels after loving season 1 & 2, I’m so keen to see season 3. The trailer was incredible.
    Eric is Mine.

  3. It’s a pity it will take so long before we get to view the series here. The north American market will be 10 episodes into a 12 episode season before it hits our screens. We’ve managed to minimise release dates globally for music & film, but for fans of hit television programs, we’re subject to waiting & waiting. It seriously has me thinking of cancelling my Pay TV subscription as the only two programs I’m hooked on are ‘True Blood’ & ‘Breaking Bad’, which are available online minutes after screening in the U.S.

  4. Craig. Grant Bowler is featured in the first episode, which is already accesable all over the web. No spoiler there.

Having already seen he first two episodes….not sure how that happened….*wink*…. i must say what great news it is to know there’ll be another season.

    Best. Show. On. Television.

    1. Craig: if you mean Grant Bowler as a werewolf this has been widely reported before as part of casting news. If it is intended as a surprise in the story I don’t know why it was leaked to media before.

  5. Not to mention New Zealand’s Anna Paquin! (Born in Canada but raised in NZ– Couldn’t believe when I heard an interview and she had the New Zealish accent!)

The only bad thing about this series is eps run for 58 mins which Seems twice as long as a normal commercial 42 min episode. They’d be better if they did 13 x 43-min eps.
