CBeebies acquires a UK children's series with musical primates combining animatronics, hand and fixed puppets.

BBC pre-schoolers channel CBeebies will air UK children’s series Zingzillas in November.

Zak, Tang, Panzee and Drum comprise a band of musical primates in a 52 x 22 live-action series aimed at children aged 3 to 6.

Created and produced in house by CBeebies, the series combines animatronics, hand and fixed puppets, with four primates who live on an island and create musical performances. In addition to the regular characters, each episode will see special musical guests visiting the island to perform, and inspiring kids to create music for themselves.

Brendan Dahill, from BBC Worldwide Channels, Australasia said, “I’m immensely pleased that we have secured , a landmark series produced in-house for CBeebies UK.

“This title is a musical feast which celebrates our core values of encouraging kids to use their imagination and learn through play. I hope we see more wooden spoons banging on saucepans playing an imaginary percussion section following its November release.”
