Killing Time: trailer

TV1's mammoth true crime drama starring David Wenham will air in September.

TV1 has announced Killing Time will air in September.

The 10 part drama from FremantleMedia Australia is a true crime story of Andrew Fraser, the high flying criminal lawyer who was plunged into a life behind bars.

At the top of his game, Fraser commanded a huge salary and represented everyone from Alan Bond to fallen football star Jimmy Krakouer. Fraser lived the dream. Or so he thought.

To Fraser, he is simply doing his job – providing his notorious clients with the best defence he can give them. But as his success grows, his morality diminishes. When a thousand-dollar-a-day cocaine habit spirals out of control, he loses everything and his life becomes intertwined with villains, larrikins and soldiers of justice.

Caged among serial killers and psychopaths, Fraser is forced to reflect on where it all went wrong and try to salvage his shattered reputation. Once again, his survival depends on the cops and crooks he associates himself with. But this time it’s not just his career, but his life at stake.

From the producers of the critically acclaimed The King, Killing Time gives a fascinating insight into the workings of the Australian justice system in a time of brutal upheaval and the war between the criminal class and the corrupt police force.

One of Australia’s most respected actors, David Wenham (Moulin Rouge, 300, Australia, Lord of the Rings) is compelling in the lead role, remaining true to the character and the events that unfold.

The cast also includes Diana Glenn, Colin Friels, Richard Cawthorne, Kris McQuade, John Brumpton, Terry Norris and Kerry Walker.

  1. This looks fantastic. David Wenham’s an exceptional talent. Wonderful support cast, too. Wonder if they’ll invite lots of bikers along to the launch party for a bit of authenticity?!
