Nine photoshops Seven News pic

Time to play Spot the Difference. Take a look at these 2 photos of Live Broadcast sites at Sydney and Brisbane shows....

Time to play Spot the Difference.

This first photo is a pic of Seven News live broadcast centre at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney earlier this year.

The second photo is a pic promoting the Nine News live broadcast centre at Brisbane’s Ekka (otherwise known as the Brisbane Exhibition) to take place from August 6 – 14.

Notice anything similar?

TV Tonight hears the Nine photo has since been removed from the official Ekka site and can’t help but wonder why….

There’s even a security guy in the doorway working for Nine who is wearing a Seven t-shirt.

“Trust the Experience?” Ummmmm…….

  1. Until we know the origin of the ‘photoshopped’ (or should I say ‘MS Painted’ photo?) photo, consider it may be a concept shot put together by the RNA.

It is on the RNA’s Ekka website, so they are responsible for the content, not 9. Perhaps a rushed webmaster doubling in a few other jobs, grabbed an internal photo that they shouldn’t have and whacked it up there, thinking that something might be better than nothing.

  2. I think that everyone here is forgetting something. QTQ came up with the original idea with the broadcast centre at the Ekka last year. This year Seven completely copied it in Sydney.

And to everyone commented on how dodgy the work is – it’s pretty obvious that it’s a very early stage spec mock-up. Of course your not going to bother editing out everything perfectly when you’re just trying to get the general idea (in this case the billboard) across.

  3. Awesome. And by that, I mean Nine is awesomely stupid, and should be awesomely embarrassed, by this obvious fakery. I’m sure in the end it came to one design guy who was given a rush job and thought no one would notice… but come on, it’s not like Nine is a small company stretched for resources… or is it??

This for me only serves to diminish Nine’s relevance even further in my book. And it was pretty much a footnote already.

  4. Experience:

    A) An ex footballer. What more can I say…
    B) Former ABC presenter with no personality. Better on the ABC.
    C) Go back to Local Edition
    D) Yawn

Thank heavens for Foxtel and ABC News 24.

  5. Kudos for the creativity behind the “entry” sign replacing the Seven logo at bottom right. They could’ve just kept it black, but this photoshopper takes pride in the details.

  6. In the bottom left of the Nine version, you can even see the feet of someone who’s body has been covered up.
I knew Nine were cutting costs, but this is perhaps a little too far??
