Q & A: Aug 2

Q & A heads to Brisbane for the very first time with a live debate from Brisbane Powerhouse.

Q & A is on the campaign trail, hitting Brisbane for a live show at the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre on Monday 2 August.

Queensland is absolutely crucial to the 2010 election campaign. Like New South Wales, Queensland has a number of critical marginal seats where the outcome of the election will be decided. It’s also where the mining tax is still hotly disputed and outrage lingers over the way Queenslander Kevin Rudd was dumped as PM to make way for Julia Gillard.

Joining host Tony Jones for this election special will be a panel of high profile Queensland politicians:
Craig Emerson, Minister for Small Business;
Peter Dutton , Shadow Minister for Health and Ageing;
Barnaby Joyce, Leader of the Nationals in the Senate; and
Larissa Waters, the Greens’ lead Senate candidate for Queensland.

“This is the first time Q&A has been to Brisbane,” said Tony Jones. “We’re looking forward to meeting members of our Queensland audience and giving them the chance to voice the election issues that matter to them.”

It airs Monday 2 August at 9.35pm live (AEST) on ABC1.
