Wilfred star and co-creator Jason Gann is at the centre of a legal case which allegedly involved an assault on a shuttle bus driver at a horse racing event in 2007.

Bus driver Joseph Hosny is suing the Victorian Racing Club for negligence following an incident at Derby Day in which an allegedly intoxicated Gann punched the driver after being asked to get off a crowded bus.

The Age says Hosny has not worked in the three years since because of the psychological damage caused.

Mediation is set for November, with a possible jury trial next January.

WorkSafe is trying to force Gann to pay about $114,000 in medical expenses and lost wages that it has already paid to Mr Hosny.

If the case goes against the VRC, they will try to get some reimbursement from Gann.

Last week Gann’s comedy announced US actor Elijah Wood hs been cast in the US adaptation.
