Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have created a new travel comedy series An Idiot Abroad, to air in the UK.

It features Karl Pilkington, radio producer, poet, podcaster, raconteur, and author, as a reluctant tourist visiting the Seven Wonders of the World.

Gervais and Merchant are outraged that Pilkington has written off the Seven Wonders claiming they’re all “a bit shit” having never seen any of them with his own eyes. They’ve thrown down the gauntlet to send him around the globe to force him out of his comfort zone.

Sounds like the antidote to all the travel shows where the host just adores the country they are visiting.

  2. unfortunately channel 10 only aired 1 episode and replaced it with some other crap!!! why don’t they take off its a knockout would have to be one of the worst things on tv I have ever seen? amazing what classes as comedy these days!!!! knock me out so I don’t have to watch it!!!!!
    watched it once and turned it over after first 10 minutes shame on you channel 10

  3. This was on last week, an episode where the guy visited China, hilarious. Don’t seem to know when the next episode is on though, was on channel 10 but can’t see it being on this week.
