Election Night: Seven panellists

Seven's election night panellists include Graham Richardson, Peter Bettie, Alexander Downer, Tanya Plibersek and more.

Seven has now revealed its Panellists for Election night.

Joining hosts David Koch and Melissa Doyle, Chris Bath and Political Editor Mark Riley and Graham Richardson will be:

Peter Beattie – Former Queensland Premier.
Peter was ahead of the numbers in calling the result in Queensland during the 2007 election night coverage. Queensland will be crucial to Labor’s chances.

Alexander Downer – Former Foreign Minister in the Howard government. Alexander Downer calls it how he sees it, and election night will be no different.

Tanya Plibersek – Minister for Housing and Status of Women. Tanya was a popular member of Seven’s panel in 2007 and will give an insight as a senior member of the Gillard government.

Scott Morrison – Shadow Minister for Immigration.
Scott Morrison is a former state director of the NSW Liberal Party. He’s right across the numbers for the Liberals and has been selling the Coalition’s tough stand on asylum seekers.

Mal Brough – Former Howard government minister.
He lost his Queensland seat in the last Federal election. Mal is across the Coalition’s performance in Queensland.

Channel Seven’s Director of News and Public Affairs Peter Meakin said today: “Panellists on election night should be well- informed and entertaining. All our experts meet both benchmarks in spades.”

Your Call: 2010 begins 5pm Saturday August 21.

  1. the only problem with the lineup is the Mel and Kochie hosting part.
    They are condescending and atrocious.
The guest pannellists are all great, but mel and Kochie kinda spoil the lineup majorly, so much so, I will watch elsewhere!

  2. I’d find it hilarious if Ch 9 put Mark Latham and Laurie Oaks in the commentary team on election night.

The fireworks between those two gents would make the coverage worth watching for sure!
