Fifi Box wedded to new Seven show

Fifi Box will host a new series in which 4 brides rate each other's weddings in order to win their ultimate honeymoon.

Seven has picked up the UK format Four Weddings in which 4 brides rate each other’s weddings in order to win their ultimate honeymoon.

Sunrise ‘s Fifi Box will host the show for Seven.

“When I heard about this show, I think I yelped with excitement,” she said. “I am the original wedding crasher, I love watching weddings; the tears, the tantrums and the occasional Elvis impersonator. This show covers them all from the traditional white weddings to the fancy dress extravaganzas. And if you thought men got competitive on the footy field, watch what happens when brides face-off in a competition.”

Each episode will feature four brides will attend each other’s special day and score four categories: the dress, ceremony, food and the reception. Weddings will vary from ‘a mediaeval ceremony to modern day fairytale, from Hollywood to Bollywood, Pagan to Pub, from the Church to the Beach.’

The series, which first premiered in the UK last year, will be produced by Granada Media Australia which produces Come Dine with me Australia. In the UK it Four Weddings won Best Entertainment Programme at the Digital Broadcast Awards 2010 and is planning its third series.

  1. @koverstreet – yeah, they’re almost as bad as Nine for bogan-tv (ACA, 20 to 1, Farmer Wants a Wife, Hot Property, Footy Show x2, Customs, etc, etc).

  2. I think some of the trash wedding segments could well end up on a new series of TV Burp. Err, and isn’t a wedding day meant to be about lifelong commitment and celebrating two people joining together blah blah blah … no, hang on, it’s about women competing with each other. Bring it on!!

  3. Fifi Box + weddings ..oh the humanity! Seven really have a knack for producing the most cringe worthy bogan tv. I think the only thing Seven have made recently that I liked was the excellent TV Burp.

  4. Does anyone remember “I Do I Do” back in the 90s on Ten? It was a game show where couples battled it out to win a TV wedding at the end of the show. I think they got their honeymoon paid for too. It was hosted by Lisa Treloar (no idea how I remember that!)

  5. Is that the least believable quote ever? (Perhaps not, but still…)
“I think I yelped with excitement!”
I “think” I rolled my eyes and recalled all the other rubbish wedding shows we’ve been dished up over the years.

  6. Sorry, ‘yasmin’s getting married’ immediately comes to mind, where the equally funny and watchable Jo Stanley saw her tv career sink. I hope the same does not happen to the gorgeous Fifi Box. Personally, i would rather sit through a zillionth rerun of a tragic 80’s sitcom, than this; but i respect that there will be an audience for it….maybe!

  7. this actually sounds like good trash tv. like come dine with me for weddings. and i love come dine with me.
i’m liking the sound of a lot of 7’s new shows for 2011, the amazing race Australia, Iron Chef, Winners&losers, ect. they seem to be moving on from their old factual domination and trying new things.
