GO! just loves Big Bang Theory

Last minute changes to GO! for Thursday see a night of Top Gear and 4 x The Big Bang Theory episodes.

Last minute changes to GO!’s line-up tonight will see the screening of Sleepless in Seattle dumped in favour of three Big Bang Theory episodes. Added to the one that was already scheduled for 9pm, that leaves episodes to run from 9 – 11pm.

It will follow 90 minutes of Top Gear.

GO! did the same thing last week when it yanked Dirty Dancing at the last minute, and netted a huge 6.9% share in doing so.

It is no doubt capitalising on the idea that Thursdays are one of our softer nights of programming (Nine even has Mentalist repeats after all), but the changes are so last minute it makes like somewhat difficult for viewers to know what’s going on.

Will it do the same idea again next Thursday?

  1. I gave up trying to keep up with GO! when they kept moving Chuck around (I understood the 7:30pm move due to M Rating rules), then it was 1am then off, then back again, then off, then on 3 mornings at 1am and off again (granted that ended series 1) and The Inbetweeners just keeps repeating as it ends each time.

Now I just cannot be bothered trying to either watch GO! or PVR shows (as they usually end up being not on), only exception is Community as at least it stays regular and I have not had to update the PVR for on again off again stuff (touch wood).

Really find it annoying, GO’s answer on their website is always: “You can watch on FixPlay,” which yeah right I’ll gather all 5 of us in the Family around the Computer too watch Online and pay more for extra Bandwidth just too watch blocky streamed stuff.

  2. @Sam – I agree, please put Frasier back on and finish the series. GO! played it up until the end of season 6, then repeated season 1-6 over last summer and I fully expected we would get to see the later season then GO! yanked it off the air 🙁

GO!’s programming decisions are very sketchy to say the least, but if people give them audience shares of 6.9% why would they stop?

  3. GO is terriable, nearly as bad as 72. It has endless reepeats, straight to foxtel, dvd rubbish movies and they change shows around all the time, such as Nip Tuck. They also like to show repeats straight away with Community and Inbetweeners a week after the new run finished. They also really annoy me with the timing of their add breaks, straight before the credits roll often with Nip Tuck and then straight after the new program intro, such as South Park. Also, don’t forgot they like their late night shopping paid presentations!

  4. I love TBBT, but sure as night follows day, i wont watch on GO! simply because they are killing it. If people are sick of watching it, change the channel. There are enough of them now so it shouldn’t be too hard to find something else surely…

  5. I’ve given up trying to follow the commercial fta schedules. The respective programming departments seem to be incredibly fickle, especially the 9 & 7 camps. How they expect to build up any kind of regular following is beyond me.

  6. i think this is the 3 week in a row this has happened. It replaced Snakes on a Plane 🙁 ha!

putting this show on endless repeat going to kill its success? good question, but if you look at Two and a Half Men and how its currently still going strong, i don’t think its a big issue especially since its being shown on a digital channel

and to believe i didn’t like this show when i first saw it, it grows on you! (especially when there’s nothing else to watch on the other channels)
