Shameless actor in hit and run arrest

Elliott Tittensor, who plays Carl Gallagher in UK drama Shameless, has been arrested after an apparent hit-and-run incident.

Elliott Tittensor, who plays Carl Gallagher in UK drama Shameless, has been arrested after an apparent hit-and-run incident.

Media reports allege Tittensor hit an 18-year-old man with his BMW Z4 in Kentish Town, north London on Sunday.

The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries where his condition is serious but stable.

Tittensor, who voluntarily went to a police station, was given bail later.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of a collision involving a BMW Z4 and a pedestrian.

“An 18-year-old man was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital suffering from head injuries.”

He continued: “The male driver did not stop at the scene.

“He later handed himself into officers at a central London police station and was arrested in connection with the collision.”

The spokesman added that the actor had been bailed until mid-September pending a police investigation.

The crash happened as Tittensor and his girlfriend Kaya Scodelario, who plays Effy Stonem in the E4 TV series Skins, visited a McDonald’s in Kentish Town, north-west London.

The Daily Mail reports trouble started when the unnamed 18-year-old recognised Tittensor and tried to begin a conversation with him – following him from inside the fast food outlet and out onto the street.

The teenager then allegedly stood in front of Tittensor’s car and would not get out of the way.

A police source said: ‘Tittensor apparently deliberately drove his car straight at him.

‘Though he was only driving slowly, the boy went up on the bonnet, rolled into the road and struck his head on the kerb.’

A Channel 4 spokeswoman declined to comment.

  1. @ Regan

You have not missed it, SBS ran a promo during the world cup stating that Shameless series 7 would air after the cup.

So far no further word, however Skins series 4 (which was also shown in the promo) has started airing in Shameless usual time slot.

I would say Shameless will start when skins finishes some time late next month.

Series 7 of Shameless hasn’t been shown on SBS yet…..although I assume it’ll air after the current series of Skins finishes in 4/5 weeks.

Looking forward to it – it’s a very well written and acted show.

  3. Elliot Tittensor, from award winning British drama, Shameless….now being remade by the US….watch quality shows now and then won’t hurt your mind…
