Your Generation returning to Tuesdays

Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation will soon return to its original timeslot, with TEN getting ready for a Junior MasterChef vs X Factor contest.

Beginning Tuesday September 7th TEN will air Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation at its original timeslot of 7:30pm.

TEN is no doubt making way for Junior MasterChef to move into Sunday nights (there will be more than one episode a week). Expect that to be upon us from 7:30pm Sunday September 12 (to be confirmed).

Your Gen will air twice in the week of September 5, on both Sunday and Tuesday.

It’s looking more and more like Junior MasterChef will be competing head to head with The X Factor.

  1. Damn, I won’t be home to watch TBYG this semester >_> If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t be too fussed where they put it.

Also, I agree with Bella. 6:30 makes sense for JMC. While I have no desire to watch X-Factor, I recall that AGT had some good numbers and since X-Factor looks basically like a carbon copy of AGT, I fear that the audience will migrate.

  2. This is good. Should never have changed timeslots. Was always much stronger in this one. And its good for my own selfish reasons: that I will actually be home to watch it!!

  3. Not really happy with this. I would think JMC would be better on at 6:30pm. As I’m sure there’s lots of kids that want to watch it ….? Having it on at 7:30pm makes it for a late finish as I don’t see it finishing promptly at 8:30pm. And since its kids and all there’s no swearing.

I want to watch The X-Factor … but if its 1 an hour of drawn out auditions or too much Kyle then I won’t bother.

It would be good if they could just put a double episode of new episodes of Modern Family.

  4. I think TBYG (otherwise known as TAYG or Your Gen – Why so many names?!) will do a lot better in it’s old timeslot… Ten should move things that meant to be moved! Like Modern Family! (3 eps a week is stupid, even if it’s a repeat)

  5. Cannot wait. I think ten will end up with a more of a balanced schedule as a result of these moves. They will strengthen their Sun-Wed line ups and Thursdays have been doing quite good. So good move ten. JMC will be awesome.

  6. if JMC airs twice a week that would probably include masterclass. the herald sun just the other day said that the series was 10 episodes long and explains the forma of the show. so if the main show is running more than once a week it will be a very short season.

  7. After a couple of dud moves from Ten, this could be on the money. TBYG should rate alot better in its original timeslot.

As far as X factor vs JMC goes, surely there is no real competition. JMC will slay it. Not MC numbers, but should easily win its slot (potentially week?)

  8. While returning TBYG to its original Tuesday night timeslot is welcome, it is a silly idea to put Junior MasterChef up against The X Factor because I love both shows and want to see both of them. This means if JMC is up against The X Factor’s live performance show, I will have to watch the latter as it goes on air, and catch up on JMC on the MasterChef website. Given both shows are expected to be shown more than once each week, can they be shown on different days, e.g. The X Factor on Sundays and Mondays, and JMC on Tuesdays and Wednesdays?
