Move over Breaking the Magician’s Code, Britain’s Derren Brown is a real-life mentalist, so it’s only fitting that his series comes to Nine.
Brown has appeared on a number of TV shows, including this four part series made for Channel 4.
“How To Take Down A Casino” is the fourth in the series.
Derren Brown is a psychological illusionist. He weaves together psychology, magic, suggestion, misdirection and showmanship to create amazing experiences and seemingly impossible feats. In this special will he win one viewer £175,000 as he puts a member of the public’s savings at stake on a genuine roulette wheel? Derren will play lady luck and will take the unsuspecting viewer along for the ride as he speaks live to them during the programme.
It airs 9pm Tuesday September 21st.

Seems The Real Hustle is just a Special.
Derren Brown is a fantastic entertainer, however, The Events is probably his worst series. His lottery trick which is the first episode was most likely done with split screen trickery and simulated camera shake, as displayed in numerous Youtube videos showing how it was done. Brown seemed to be more into profit than the mastery of which he is capable in The Events. It’s good, but somewhat disappointing.
So The Real Hussle is just a one off?
This is probably a bad one for Nine to air first as not everything goes to plan, so hardly an enticement for anyone to watch the next Event.
His latest show – Hero at 30,000 Feet – aired last night here in the UK and IMO is probably the best he’s done.
Damn you David! for a moment there I thought it read Airdate: The Event!
BTW it should be on the 21st, just hours after the US 😀
