‘Conviction’, the new Brisbane restaurant to be featured in Seven’s Conviction Kitchen, will open its doors to the public on Friday October 8th.

Based on a Canadian format, the series follows 12 ex-criminals – six in the kitchen, six on the floor – as they run a restaurant under the eye of head chef Ian Curley (pictured).

The restaurant is located in the former Three Bistro space in Brisbane’s Emporium complex. It is described as offering “a unique fine dining experience and a menu based on The European’s elegant, continental fare.”

All profits from Conviction will reportedly go to charity (although it isn’t clear what happens when the series ends filming).

All patrons entering Conviction will be filmed for the series.

  1. nice to see everyone has a sense of humour……
come on guys really, so people dont change? ill be attending with full confidence that I will have a great meal and leave with all my valuables in my possesion

  2. i think it would be a great chance for the 12 selected and people should let them have a second chance on life everyone makes mistakes they are just trying to fix theirs.

  3. Insert obligatory Alan Partridge clip here. It’s amazing that what was once a comedic example of the worst idea for a television series is now actually happening.

  4. Given that Three Bistro seemed unable to turn a profit in the same space (admittedly the food was only average and the fitout/service slightly below average) I can’t see this restaurant having much of a life after the television series, even in a town with so few good restaurants.

  5. Would there be any profits with crims running the joint ?
The till would be empty each night 😉
I certainly wouldn’t argue with the staff……unless you want to be shived.
