David Mills left off Emmys ‘In Memoriam’

He worked on Treme, The Wire, NYPD Blue, and Homicide: Life on the Street but writer David Mills was forgotten by the Emmy Awards.

It happened at the Oscars with Farrah Fawcett.

Now another name has been left off the A List.

Writer David Mills (Treme, The Wire, NYPD Blue, and Homicide: Life on the Street) was conspicuous by his absence on Emmy‘s In Memoriam roll call.

He died of a brain aneurysm at age 48 in March.

But despite winning two Emmys for his work on HBO’s 2000 miniseries The Corner, it seems his memory wasn’t memorable enough.

An Academy of Television Arts and Sciences representative has sincesaid, “Compiling the In Memoriam is always an arduous task. On occasion, a well respected member of our community may be left off in error. This is certainly not intentional and does not indicate any lack of regard for their accomplishments.”

Which is corporate speak for ‘DOH!’
