No, it’s not all about here, but if noone in this market is familiar with any of these shows, they could have trouble getting the formats off the ground in this market.
I think Australians are more open to outside ideas than Americans, but they will need to put a lot into promoting the shows before they broadcast them.
btw, i didn’t make a reference to their success (i’d have no idea…), just at how ‘foreign’ they sound.
gary2 your right but they did do seven series of it, back wehn it would rate over 1.5 mil every ep
Now that BBC own UKTV on Foxtel I wish Granada TV (which is shown in asia) would come to Australia. It has all of the ITV shows, which UKTV doesn’t show much of anymore.
Yes wording could have been better, but it’s one of the titles they have done in Aus.
granada dont produce dancing with the stars ans havent for 3 years..Freehand do
Who here has even Heard of any of these shows that this ‘dominant world-wide operation’ holds?
They look pretty darn successful to me. Nice to see some television ideas from somewhere other than the US. Look at all the shows that are in Asia, South America… …it’s not all about Australia, US and UK.
