Ray Hadley for SKY News

Sydney-based talkback host Ray Hadley will front a weekly current affairs show for SKY News.

The Australian reports the 45 minute show will air from 8.15pm on Tuesdays, beginning after the Commonwealth Games.

SKY News chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos said the transition from radio to TV for presenters in the current affairs genre was an emerging one in the Australian market (Derryn Hinch may beg to differ, amongst others).

SKY already screens Paul Murray Live with Triple M’s Paul Murray.

“I believe Ray is an absolute natural,” Frangopoulos said. “He brings a refreshing perspective.”

  1. Come on all you right wingers, get on here and support Ray. Those lefties are frightened because he speaks the truth what most Aussie’s are thinking, but we the majority are never heard. Go Ray Go. What’s wrong lefties you frghtened of the truth? Our country is going downhill and one of our big problems is that labor cannot control the boats, and they still believe in that lie about global warming, when it has been exposed as a big lie. Wow no one can control the bloody weather idiots. In Australia we have always had droughts, flooding rains, etc, remember the poem, and that wasn’t written yesterday.

  2. Ever since Ray has made his appearance I have lost interest in Sky TV. I have already started looking for alternative pay TV and I know quite a few people who are thinking along those lines.

  3. How could Sky News pick this Hadlee bloke who speaks nothing but an anti Labor propaganda along with his chosen panel ,absolutely biased . Has 2GB got so desperate that their venom against Labor is not working and they are trying to get Sky tv to assist them?

  4. Once again Hadley follows what John Laws and Alan Jones have done before him. I’m sure this show will have the same success that ‘Alan Jones Live’ had on 10 all those years ago.

  5. How is a panel/talking head show “current affairs”?

Also, 8.15pm Tuesdays? What the hell is up with Sky’s scheduling?

A show like this should be 7.30 weeknights. Every night.

  6. Here we go! They’ve already reached for the lowest common denominator emergency red button. Just re-name it ‘Fox News Australia’ & be done with the scrapping of the bucket.

    When that’s done; ABC News24 = MSNBC? 🙂

  7. Mmm, because what Sky News needed was another right-wing voice. (Also, how the hell is Hadley going to handle this along with his radio and commentary commitments once the NRL season starts up next year?)
