Renewed: The Glades

Good news for Aussie actor Matt Passmore, with cable network A&E ordering a second season of drama series The Glades.

Passmore stars as a Chicago detective who moves to South Florida and takes a job with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The drama averaged 3.2 million viewers for first-run episodes, making it the network’s number one programme in total viewers and attracted good reviews, including for Passmore.

Season one is scheduled to finish airing on October 3rd with pre-production on S2 to begin later. It will have 13 episodes.

“The Glades has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first season,” said Bob DeBitetto, president and general manager of A&E Network, in a statement.

“With superb writing and exceptional acting, led by a standout performance by Matt Passmore, we’re pleased that the series has struck a chord with fans.”

It will air in Australia on Foxtel.
