Returning: Glee, House.

TEN throws down the gauntlet to rival networks by fastracking Glee just hours after it returns in the US.

TEN is fastracking new seasons of Glee and House.

Both will now air on Wednesdays, beginning September 22nd.

Glee airs at 7:30pm followed by House at 8:30pm -a promotion from its former 9:30pm Sunday timeslot.

TEN’s fastracking of Glee throws down the gauntlet to rival networks -it will air on September 21 in the US. Discounting the dateline, TEN airs the show just hours after the US.

In another fastracking move, House premieres in the US on September 20.

Both shows are expected to be paused during two weeks of the Commonwealth Games coverage, however this is yet to be confirmed.

  1. I Love House MD it is my favorite show on TV, for the past 7 years and i would love if Channel 10 takes notice and realize that the reason it’s low on ratings is that they show crap 5 second promos that does nothing to want viewers to stop and watch… they should do their research maby watch the episode and get a bit more creative than shoveling out crap like they don’t care. but at least they put it back on Wednesdays so its a start, im really happy and looking forward to a great season of House
    🙂

  2. I still have doubts that downloads have a huge impact on ratings, with say 1 million viewers and even if 50k download it that’s 0.5%, hardly worth the worry. I do agree fast tracking some shows will prevent a lot of downloads. I mean what’s the point wasting time and data if you can watch it on TV within hours or days of the US or UK?

And Lauren shows are usually online within 2 hours of the US, which mean those who just can’t wait and have a fast connection could watch Glee before 5pm local time, but you’d have to be a real Gleek to do that LOL

  3. Ten really needed to do that for Glee. Out of all the Ten shows, Glee is probably the one that is the most downloaded, so for the show to be hours after the US, should stop this and increase the ratings. One thing Ten could do was that if there was buzz about a particular episode, they could promote it big time in the news block between 5-7:30 next year. I’m sure that Glee is going to be massive with this new and better arrangement.

  4. Thank you Ten so very much for Glee!!

I wish Seven would fast track all their shows now 🙁 And Fox 8 fast track Gossip Girl. But i gues you cant get everything!

  5. @Paull you must be one of the few people against fast tracking shows, I think people will adjust, I mean if they DL them and some weeks they are off due to sports or US holidays their world doesn’t come to an end. Also how often do the networks here drop in a re-run mid season, Nine loves doing that. I’d rather watch it at the same time as the US, with the occasional week off. All TEN and others have to do is keep the public informed, if it’s not going to be on the following week just tell us at the end of the ep, which they have in some cases.

I don’t see following the US schedule being a big deal, it’s far better than waiting until Feb!

Now I just hope the new Hawaii Five-O takes that 9:30 slot.
