Returning: The IT Crowd

In the new series series Moss becomes a celebrity on a popular puzzle show and Roy has an unnerving experience with a male masseur.

ABC1 returns a favourite comedy series, The IT Crowd, next month.

The new six-part series see Jen (Katherine Parkinson) taking on the role of Reynholm Industries’ Entertainment Manager, Moss (Richard Ayoade), becoming a celebrity by beating all records on a popular puzzle show and Roy (Chris O’Dowd) having an unnerving experience with a male masseur. Meanwhile Douglas (Matt Berry), finds himself joining the ‘spaceologists’.

Series four aired in the UK in June.

In the first episode Jen, desperate for a new challenge, applies for the role of Reynholm Industries’ ‘Entertainment Manager’. She quickly learns that the job isn’t quite what she thought it would be and enlists the help of Moss and Roy to help her ‘entertain’ a group of out-of-town businessmen. Still getting over a nasty break-up, Roy finds the exercise to be just what he needs as Moss helps him heal his broken heart.

Meanwhile Douglas tries to show off his soft side to a group of feminists responsible for giving him a most unflattering award.

It returns 9pm Wednesday October 6th.

  1. I thought The IT Crowd stepped up a notch in quality with S.3. The character of Douglas is hilarious. I’ll be setting the recorder for this one, and no doubt watching each episode several times.

  2. This series, like each IT Crowd series, is inconsistent as all get out – good one episode, flat the next – but the best episodes in series four are great. Hope people enjoy them!

  3. Wow! 9pm Wednesday on ABC1? Have they always given The IT Crowd the red carpet treatment like this? I was expecting some kind of Thursday night timeslot on ABC2…

  4. I loved that Moss episode where he was on Countdown, especially now that ABC has its own version (Letters And Numbers); what a silly episode but oh so hilarious. The rest of the season is pretty good too, and there’s the special albeit short return of Noel Fielding’s character.

  5. Damn i thought this was about S5, its hard to keep track of where i see things these days.

I partially agree with Adam, 1 and 2 were the best, 3 and 4 not so much but i still enjoy them.
