Seven has picked up MTV’s spin-off of Teen Wolf.
The series was written by Jeff Davis, creator of Criminal Minds, and the pilot was directed by Australian Russell Mulcahy.
Gary Marenzi, president, worldwide television, MGM, says the 12x1hour remake is darker than the original comedy which starred Michael J. Fox. He said: “It’s based on the movie but done in a teen angst way, like Smallville, capturing the Twilight zeitgeist.”
Starring Tyler Posey, it is also said to have a greater emphasis on romance, horror and werewolf mythology. It also features Colton Haynes (pictured).
Fox is also being considered for an appearance in the series.
“It’s been bandied about. It would be interesting to bring him in for a serious role” Marenzi noted.
An animated series also surfaced during the 1980s.

There is a long forgotten gem made in the 80’s (?) called Werewolf which 9 played on saturdays that disappeared into thin air.Gee it was good viewing.
Sounds good to me.
Wait a minute. Colton Haynes already plays a werewolf on The Gates. That seems like rather extreme typecasting.
I feel as though I’ve been slapped in the face with a silly fish. This came from nowhere!
Why get Foxtel now when nearly every show that is on Foxtel ends up on free to air anyway, plus quite a lot of pay tv type shows are on free to air eg
On seven two, escape to the country, 60 min makeover
go – gossip girl
abc 2 – breaking bad
etc etc etc
