Andy Whitfield’s final Spartacus scenes

Spartacus: Blood and Sand has a double finale on GO! this week -the final scenes by Andy Whitfield.

A reminder that Spartacus: Blood and Sand has a double finale on GO! this week -the final scenes by Andy Whitfield in the series.

Whitfield was forced to withdraw from the title role following ill health.

However he will make a brief appearance in the prequel, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, which began filming in New Zealand in August.

The prequel stars Dustin Clare as Gannicus, the first gladiator to become Champion of Capua.

Spartacus airs at 9:30pm Wednesday on GO!

  1. This is one of the shows they decided to show in the same timeslot each and every week and didn’t skip episodes. If only every show was treated as well by Nine.

At least Seven just bumps shows to later timeslots, Nine takes shows off for 2 weeks (whilst it decides what to do with it I presume) or they put the show with another show that doesn’t lead in well etc etc etc. Also they take shows off with just 2 episodes to show and then 3 weeks later they play the episodes eg Curb Your Enthusiam, Bachelorette , Dark Blue. They will prob lose the audience doing that.

Having said all that the programming is a bit more stable on GO! with just Human Target and Dark Blue messed with ,than this time last year when they decided to take most shows off for 2-3 weeks to play movies wtf ???

  2. Good to hear that Andy Whitfield will be appearing in the prequel (even if it is very briefly).

Hopefully the producers can find someone worthy to replace Andy Whitfield and the series will continue, but if they cannot, then at least we had an excellent season and hopefully an equally excellent prequel.
