ABC1’s Q&A will simulcast across Australia on ABC News 24 from Monday 25th October.
This will make ths show air live across all Australia in all time zones, just as it did during the Federal Election campaign.
Executive Producer, Peter McEvoy, said, “Q&A is all about live interaction between our audience and the political leaders who shape our country. Simulcasting Q&A on ABC News 24 will cut through the time zones that have prevented TV viewers in Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia from watching Q&A live.”
“Q&A on ABC News 24 will give all Australians the opportunity to get involved in the Q&A discussion and debate by submitting their questions live on the web and their comments live on Twitter to a truly national Q&A.”
The first program to be simulcast will be a special edition with former Prime Minister John Howard.
It airs at 9:35pm AEDT.

They still haven’t updated the Electronic Program Guides as my tv still says The World is on at that time.
This puts Q&A up against ‘A Current Affair’ and ‘Today Tonight’ here in WA (6.30pm WAST).
That’s going to be a tough decision… I’d hate to miss another angry neighbour, shonky con man or new diet plan being put through deep journalistic investigation.
Sounds like a waste of an extra channel to me (living in a AEDT area).
Yay! Better late than never!
Er, I mean better live than late, but better that they’ve done this at all! Should’ve done since August. Quite obvious, really, since 7:30 Report is live coaxt-to-coaxt and not really sure why.
I’ll take that as a comment Goonies.
What they need to so is tighten the screws on the guests ‘talk time.’ Lately some of them have just been going on and on and on without a discernible point being made!
C’mon Tony, we know you can do it – so tell them all to pull their heads in a bit would ya?
Woohoo – proof that ABC actually listen to feedback!
I’ve been thinking they should do this every week since ABC News 24 launhed, they should also simulcast other ABC news program (4 corners, aus story etc) as they air on abc1, it is the news channel after all. . . .
Good stuff – all we sandgropers are cheering.
That’s a good time as here in Perth it will be 6.30pm ish and it means it won’t clash with my other recording on my PVR .
I wih they had it live on abc news 24 when the channel started.
Smart idea.
Yay! I’m in Perth too, and so sick of seeing it 3 hours behind. 🙂 Best decision ever.
Great news. I’m in Perth and have found it easier to watch it on iView, than on TV, as then i’ll have to wait an extra two hours
