Renewed: Bored to Death, Eastbound & Down
Two HBO US comedies airing on Showcase win new seasons, as well as returning to Aussie screens in December.

HBO has renewed comedy series Bored to Death which stars Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis.
It’s second premiere audience in the US was a modest 1.1 million viewers despite following Boardwalk Empire, but has remained relatively steady in the ratings in addition to winning critical praise.
Season Two will premiere in Australia on Showcase as double episodes from 8:30pm Tuesday December 7th.
HBO also renewed the Will Ferrell-produced comedy Eastbound & Down for a third season. It stars Danny McBride as a former professional baseball pitcher who is forced to return to his hometown as a substitute physical education teacher.
It returns to Showcase 8:30pm Monday December 13th.

Boardwalk Empire has already been picked up for a second season. That happened the week after the first episode aired. Which is awesome!
Second season of East Bound and Down started off slow, but it soon became awesome! I was hoping that’d get renewed. Actually was looking to see if it had just a few days back.
Bored to Death is a brilliant show and so far the second season is set to surpass… so good.
Very happy to see ‘Bored to Death’ make its return. The first season was memorable for all the right reasons.
I hope they pick up HBOs “Boardwalk Empire.” It awesome!
